Smith machine exercises

A Smith machine is a barbell on a fixed vertical (or slightly angled) track with hooks you can spin to rack. Squats, presses, and lunges that require that machine live on this hub. The path removes some stabilizer demand and lets you fail without dumpers, which is why some lifters prefer it and others avoid it. The atlas does not argue. It lists the published Smith movements and the muscles they target. A free barbell squat is on the barbell hub. If you searched Smith machine exercises, this is the directory. Cards still link chest, quads, or shoulders. Similar exercises stay on Smith variations first. No machine-brand comparison and no “Smith is cheating” essay. Published exercise counts on the page update with the catalog so this introduction stays about anatomy and equipment rather than a stale number.
