Don't Drop Your Hand

A common mistake is dropping the hand before throwing an uppercut. This can leave you open for a counter punch. Instead, keep your hand up protecting your face until the moment you decide to throw the punch.

Use Your Legs and Hips

Power in boxing comes from the ground up, so use your legs and hips when throwing an uppercut. When you throw the left uppercut, bend your knees slightly and push off your left foot, rotating your left hip forward. This will provide more power and help protect you from counter punches
