Calves exercises
Calves are gastrocnemius and soleus, the plantarflexors that raise the heel. Standing raises bias the gastrocnemius because the knee is straight; seated raises bias the soleus with the knee bent. Both live on this hub because searchers say calf exercises. Donkey raises and machine variants are separate rows. Tibialis work is not here; it has its own anterior-shin page. High-rep or pause work is a programming choice, not a different muscle, so the atlas does not split “endurance calves” into another URL. Equipment is a machine, a step, or a barbell. Similar cards keep you on plantarflexion. The page will not promise thicker calves in 30 days. It lists the published movements whose target is this muscle. Published exercise counts on the page update with the catalog so this introduction stays about anatomy and equipment rather than a stale number.
