Quadriceps exercises

The quadriceps are the four muscles on the front of the thigh that extend the knee. Squats, lunges, split squats, leg presses, and extensions populate this hub when quads are the target. Step-ups and some jumps appear if the catalog tagged them that way. Rectus femoris also flexes the hip, which is why a sit-up is not a quad exercise even though the muscle crosses two joints. This page is the atlas filter for knee-extension work. High-bar and front squats often bias quads more than a low-bar hinge, and those names remain separate rows. Equipment includes barbells, dumbbells, machines, and bodyweight. Similar cards match equipment first. No starting-strength template lives here — only the movements and the muscle they train.
